existirán nuevas fechas para el fin del mundo
habrá presagios aun cuando no esté claro el regreso de jesús
los androides soñarán con paraísos de zinc
habremos incendiado el cielo
alguien escribirá que la carne es triste y que ha leído todos los libros
la ciudad se llena de perros y militares
los perros me gustan
cuando andan juntos
y se muerden
y se tiran
de los militares no me gusta nada
los he visto subir a esos camiones
donde arropan las armas
como si fueran sus hijos muertos
los precios de la carne no aparecen en el poema
no hay rimas sobre el incremento del gas
la cocinera con sus manos frágiles
los que duermen en las banquetas
los repartidores de pizza
el gesto ante las vallas de publicidad
la tristeza al tocar los cheques
la subcontratación
la venta de los órganos del hombre por el hombre
no caben
aclaran los jurados de las becas
sentencian los creadores nacionales
confirman los artistas en la presentación de sus libros
el poema
no huele
no se pudre

the dates for the end of the world will have been revised
there’ll be omens even if the scheduling’s sketchy for the second coming
androids will dream zinc edens
we’ll have torched the sky
and someone will write the flesh is triste and i’ve read all the books
the city fills up with dogs and soldiers
i like dogs
when they roam round together
bite each other
and tug at each other
the soldiers i don’t like at all
i’ve seen them climb into those trucks
pile up guns
like their dead sons
the price of meat is not featured in the poem
there are no rhymes on the spike in gas prices
the cook with her fragile hands
the sleepers on sidewalks
the deliverers of pizza
the grimace at a hoarding
outsourcing
sadness at handling checks
sale by humans of other humans’ organs
none of these fit
the fellowship juries clarify
the nation’s creative talents pronounce
the artists at their book launches confirm
the poem
neither stinks
nor rots
